I returned to University as a mature student to do a PhD in Sociology. Unfortunately I experienced CSA myself as a young child and this had a significant effect on me. It has not been a simple process to get to where I am now.
My research aims to identify useful things people can do to recover and how society can help them achieve this. I will share this with anyone who wants to know. Luckily the University of Sheffield and my PhD funders, the Wellcome Trust, are interested in this research too.
Since completing my PhD last year I’ve been researching a 19th century case of child sexual exploitation and hope to publish about this soon.
